| What are Chakras? Chakras are seven main energy points within the body and each one corresponds to a colour of the rainbow, an organ in the body and a layer of the aura. Each point is a swirling vortex of energy that is connected to earth, other people and the universe. When our chakras are open, we are able to receive many forms of energy and reduce attracted negativity. First Chakra (Root): RED Rules legs, skeleton and intestines and draws energy from the ground. When in balance, promotes balance and grounding. Excessive: Greedy and domineering. Deficient: Weak and lack of confidence. Second Chakra (Sacral) : ORANGE Influences comfort and satisfaction and rules the blood, reproductive system, kidneys and bladder. When in balance, promotes intuition, optimism and friendliness. Excessive: Aggressive, manipulative and over indulgent. Deficient: Shy, timid and distrustful. Third Chakra (Solar Plexus): YELLOW Rules stomach and navel and is the colour of fire. When in balance, promotes outgoingness, cheerfulness and self respect. Excessive: Judgemental, perfectionist and demanding. Deficient: Depressed, confused and have a lack of confidence. Fourth Chakra (Heart): GREEN Rules the heart, lungs and breast. When in balance, promotes compassion, friendliness and doing well for others. Excessive: Demanding and critical. Deficient: Paranoid and afraid. Fifth Chakra (Throat): BLUE Associated with sound, controls the mouth, neck and shoulders. When in balance, promotes balance, artistic talent and good spiritual learning. Excessive: Arrogant, dogmatic and dominant. Deficient: Scared, timid and passive. Sixth Chakra (Third Eye): CLEAR Can be found above the bridge of the nose. Rules eyes, ears and brain. When in balance, opens to all knowledge, promotes psychic abilities and consciousness. Excessive: Works with ego and manipulative. Deficient: Not assertive and over sensitive. Seventh Chakra (Crown): PURPLE Rules body, brain and psyche. When in balance, opens the divine and total access to subconscious. Excessive: Depression and head aches Deficient: Catatonic can’t make decisions. Healing With Chakra Crystals: Choose a crystal and colour that you are drawn to and hold it over the appropriate chakra about 5cm (2 inches) from the body. Here you should sense the aura and chakra energies and a rotating energy where the chakra point should be. Choose whether you should move anti clockwise to remove blockages and tensions, or clockwise to infuse energy and restore health. Continue until you are ready to stop. Chakra Meditation: To help balance chakras, to be used as a visualisation technique and to open to spirit and meditation. Prepare for meditation as usual, when all is quiet and dark, imagine a beam of light growing from the earth and moving up your body. With the next several deep breaths you take, draw more energy up through your body from the ground. The next breath you take lights up your base charka, imagine a swirling red light turning at this charka. Repeat for your other six charkas, continuing up the body. The seventh breath opens your Crown Chakra, so imagine it showering white light from your head and connecting with the ground energy. You are now ready to meditate, visualize etc. (DON’T FORGET YOUR PROTECTION!) When finished, close down each chakra, leaving your crown and base slightly open. Finish your meditation as usual. What are Auras? Auras are personal energy fields that are made up of different levels and colours. All things have an aura – although they are easier to read if the item is living. A Person’s aura can measure upto 3 feet beyond the body and consists of seven different layers: 1. Etheric Body 2. Emotional Body 3. Mental Body 4. The Astral Level 5. Etheric Template Body 6. The Celestial Body 7. The Ketheric Body Aura work mainly concentrates on the personal root aura which usually consists of a permenant root aura colour and a changing mood aura colour. When a person can read the colours of an aura, it helps them to read people in certain situations and also can help with healing and balance. (For example, if someone has blockages and dark sport in their aura, this can be a sign of bad health, mentally or physically.) The colours in the aura reflect different emotional states that correspond with the traditional meanings (see the colour guide on the left hand menu for further info.) For example, if someone has a permanent aura colour of green, but a mood aura colour of red, this may mean that this is usually a calm, serene person, but something has recently happened to make them really angry and upset! An Aura Exercise: Arrange some fruit and vegetables in front of a white screen. Relax your eyes and ask your guides to come forward. Ask them to help you see the auras around the fruit and vegetables. After a while you should see rainbow colours around the items. You may only see silver and white lines. If this is the case, ask your guides to help you see the colour – be patient – you should at some point see their auras! Once you feel comfortable with this, try it on people! |
